Welded and coated in Maasbree

The steel frame is welded in our workshop in Maasbree, the Netherlands, and then powder coated in a fine texture. That layer is 3 to 5 times thicker than wet paint.

Quick guide

  • You want the frame in a colour: steel.
  • You want brushed silver: stainless steel. Outdoors they are equally suitable.
  • Undecided about the top: ceramic needs the least care, granite is real stone.

Outdoor primer: what it does

A steel frame can stand outdoors with an outdoor primer: the frame then gets an extra primer layer under the powder coat. That makes steel with primer and stainless steel equally suitable outdoors, so the choice between them is about looks.

To be clear about steel: powder coating is a layer of paint, and a heavy impact could in theory damage it. So avoid swinging a steel chair leg or a heavy pot hard against it.

10 colours for the frame

The steel frame comes in 10 standard colours. Other colours are not available.

  • White and cream: RAL 9010 and RAL 9001.
  • Grey: RAL 7044, RAL 7023, RAL 7016 and RAL 7021.
  • Black: RAL 9011 and RAL 9005.
  • Anodised: Anodic Bronze and Anodic Brown.

In the 3D configurator you see each colour on the chosen model straight away, together with the top.

Metal garden table: steel or stainless steel?

Both are metal, both are welded in Maasbree and both are equally suitable outdoors. Steel is powder coated in one of 10 colours; 304 stainless steel is brushed silver as standard, with no coating, and shows fingerprints, although they are easy to remove.

Choose on what you see. An anthracite or black frame disappears against dark paving; white or cream suits a light patio.

Which top on a steel frame?

  • Ceramic: 29 colours, 12 or 20 mm thick, frost, UV and heat resistant. Heavy, though, and sensitive to a hard knock on the edge.
  • Granite: four types, 30 mm thick, up to 2400 × 1000 mm. Seal after delivery and every two to three years after that; always put a hot pan on a trivet.

Round is possible in ceramic. Rectangular, oval, Danish oval and a rectangle with semicircular ends are possible in ceramic and granite.

Steel frame models

This category includes the steel frames Amsterdam, Brussel, Dubai, Dublin, Geneve, Helsinki, Lissabon, Londen, Monaco, Praag, Riga 80x40, Riga 80x80, Sydney and Venetie. Geneve, Lissabon, Praag and both Rigas also come under a round top.

Size of your steel garden table

Allow 700 to 750 mm of table edge per person and at least 800 mm of free space around it. Three chairs along one long side need 2100 to 2250 mm. Standard table height is 760 mm.

Care

Wipe the frame with a damp cloth. If after some years you see damage in the coating, have it touched up before moisture reaches the steel. Care for the top depends on the material: ceramic with a damp cloth, granite with a pH-neutral cleaner.

Ordering

Every table is made to measure, to the millimetre. Delivery within 4 weeks, or at a lower rate within 8 weeks.

Collection in Maasbree is also possible. You get a 2-year guarantee on construction and finish.

Frequently asked questions

Can a steel garden table stay outside all year?
Yes, with outdoor primer. The frame then gets an extra primer layer under the powder coat. Steel with primer and stainless steel are equally suitable outdoors.
Which colours can I choose for the frame?
10 standard colours: RAL 9010, 9001, 7044, 7023, 7016, 7021, 9011 and 9005, plus Anodic Bronze and Anodic Brown. Other colours are not available.
Does a steel garden table rust?
Not while the coating is intact. Powder coating is a layer of paint that a heavy impact could in theory damage. Have any damage touched up before moisture reaches the steel.
Steel or stainless steel for a garden table?
Outdoors, steel with primer and stainless steel are equally suitable, so the choice is about looks. Steel gives you colour; stainless steel is brushed silver and shows fingerprints, which wipe off easily.
