Walnut: colour and figure

Walnut is a deep chocolate brown with purple undertones. The figure differs from top to top, so a photo never shows your exact top.

Solid, 40 mm thick

A walnut table top is 40 mm thick and up to 2600 × 1200 mm. Walnut is lighter than oak but dimensionally stable. You set the shape and size to the millimetre, and the configurator shows the price straight away.

Sunlight and colour change

Walnut can lighten slightly after long exposure to direct sunlight. UV blockers in the lacquer limit this. If the table stands right in front of a large south-facing window, bear that in mind.

Knots always black

Knots in walnut are always filled in black with a two-component filler. There is no choice here, not even on an untreated top. On the dark wood, a black knot blends into the figure.

Lacquered or untreated

The lacquered top is ready to use. If you choose untreated, you finish the top yourself; the black knot filling stays part of the top.

Indoors only

Walnut is not suitable for outdoor use. For a top outdoors, choose ceramic: frost resistant and UV resistant.

Walnut or oak?

• Want the colour of the wood itself, without stain: choose walnut.
• Want to match the colour to your floor or cabinets: choose oak, which is stained in the colour you pick.
• Want a top that grows warmer over the years: oak gets a deeper colour, while walnut can lighten slightly in the sun.
