Stainless Steel Garden Tables

Which outdoor table can stay outside year-round without the base rusting? A stainless steel outdoor table has a frame of brushed 304-grade stainless steel. This material does not corrode, even after months of rain, frost or bright sun. Where a powder-coated steel frame always depends on a protective layer, stainless steel is naturally weather-resistant.

Quick selection guide: stainless steel or steel for outdoor?

  • Table stays outside year-round unprotected: choose stainless steel 304, does not corrode
  • Covered patio or seasonal use: steel with outdoor primer is sufficient and offers colour choice
  • Coastal area or salty climate: stainless steel is the safest choice

Why stainless steel 304 for outdoor use?

Stainless steel 304 contains chromium and nickel. The chromium forms an invisible oxide layer on the surface that protects the steel against corrosion. This layer self-heals when damaged, making the material permanently rust-free.

The brushed finish is applied mechanically and gives a fine, linear texture. Unlike polished stainless steel, the brushed variant shows virtually no fingerprints. UV radiation has no effect on stainless steel: the material does not discolour and the brushed finish remains stable.

9 stainless steel base models for outdoor tables

The stainless steel collection includes 9 models, each named after a city. The models are identical to those for stainless steel dining tables, so indoor and outdoor follow the same design language.

The Riga models have a clean U-profile in two widths: 80x40 mm (slimmer) and 80x80 mm (more robust). Dublin and Helsinki are central bases providing full legroom around the table. Amsterdam and Brussel have a wider profile. Sydney has an open, spreading design.

In the 3D configurator you place each model under your chosen top. View all models on the stainless steel table bases page.

Stainless steel outdoor table with ceramic top

Ceramic on stainless steel is the most requested combination for outdoor tables. Both materials are fully weather-resistant and maintenance-free. The result: an outdoor table that stays outside year-round without a cover, without oil, without treatment.

Ceramic is frost-proof per EN ISO 10545-12 with water absorption below 0.1%. The top is 12 mm thick, available in 28 colours and up to 3200x1600 mm. Hot dish from the barbecue directly on the table? No problem. Barbecue sauce, sunscreen or red wine? Wipe with a damp cloth.

Ceramic on stainless steel: the most carefree outdoor table

Both materials require zero maintenance. No sealing, no lacquer, no cover. The table stands there year-round, in sun and frost. After dinner, grab a damp cloth and the top is clean again.

Stainless steel outdoor table with granite top

Granite on stainless steel combines two robust materials into a heavy, solid outdoor table. Granite is 30 mm thick and each slab has its own crystal pattern. Four varieties available. Maximum top size: 2400x1000 mm.

Granite is frost-proof and UV-resistant but requires periodic sealing, typically once a year.

Frequently asked questions

Can a stainless steel garden table stay outdoors year-round without protection?
Yes, stainless steel 304 is naturally corrosion-resistant. The material does not rust, even with long-term exposure to rain, frost or strong sunshine. Combined with a ceramic top you have a garden table that can stay outside all year without a cover or any treatment.
What is the difference between a stainless steel and a steel garden table?
Stainless steel 304 is rust-free thanks to its chromium-nickel alloy. Steel for outdoor use is finished with an additional primer under the powder coating for extra protection. Both are suitable for permanent outdoor use; the choice between them is an aesthetic preference. Steel offers more model choice (18 versus 9) and a wider colour range (10 RAL colours).
Which tabletop materials are suitable for a stainless steel garden table?
For outdoor use ceramic and granite are available. Ceramic is 12 mm thick, comes in 28 colours and is completely maintenance-free. Granite is 30 mm thick, comes in 4 types and needs periodic sealing. Wood is not suitable outdoors because of shrinkage and warping.
How do I maintain a stainless steel garden table?
Clean the stainless steel frame with a damp cloth in the direction of the brushed grain. Do not use scouring pads or chlorine-based products. A ceramic top is simply wiped down with a damp cloth. A granite top should be re-sealed once a year.
What sizes are available for a stainless steel garden table?
Any made-to-measure size is possible within the limits of the top material. Ceramic goes up to 3200 x 1600 mm, granite up to 2400 x 1000 mm. In the online 3D configurator you enter the exact dimensions in millimetres. Allow for at least 60 cm per person along the long side.
Which base models are available in stainless steel?
The stainless steel collection has 9 models: Amsterdam, Brussels, Dublin, Helsinki, Sydney, Riga 80x40, Riga 80x80, Riga 80x40 round and Riga 80x80 round. From central bases with full legroom through to U-profiles and spider legs. Each model is also available as a stainless steel dining table for indoor use.
Do I need a cover for my stainless steel garden table?
No cover needed. Ceramic, granite and stainless steel are all weather-resistant and can stay outside year-round.
