Stainless steel garden chairs
The Marco Polo in three materials
The Marco Polo combines three materials. The frame is brushed stainless steel, the seat and back are Batyline and the armrests are teak.
- Stainless steel frame: does not corrode and needs no paint.
- Batyline: water-permeable, quick-drying, UV resistant and mould resistant.
- Teak: a warm contrast with the cool metal. Left untreated, it turns silver-grey over time.
What is Batyline?
Batyline is a fabric of polyester fibre that is coated with PVC first and woven afterwards. That makes it hold its shape, resist tearing and not stretch.
The fabric gives slightly when you sit down, without a cushion. After a shower the water runs straight through, so the seat is soon dry again.
Stainless steel or aluminium garden chair?
Stainless steel is heavier than aluminium. A stainless steel chair therefore stands more firmly and shifts less in the wind, but it is less easy to move. If you often rearrange chairs or add many for guests, choose an aluminium garden chair.
Cleaning stainless steel garden chairs
- Stainless steel frame: a damp cloth. The brushed surface shows fingerprints less readily than polished stainless steel.
- Batyline: lukewarm water with a mild soap and a soft sponge. No abrasives, solvents or pressure washer.
- Teak: do nothing and it turns silver-grey. To keep the warm brown colour, treat it with teak oil.
Which table?
The brushed stainless steel matches a stainless steel garden table, where the frame is 304 stainless steel. Allow 700 to 750 mm of table edge per chair.
Delivery time for seating varies by model, from 2 to 12 weeks; the product page shows it. You get a 2-year guarantee on construction and finish. All models together are under garden chairs.
