Ceramic Table Tops

A new table top can give an existing base a completely new lease of life. Whether you want to replace a worn top, add a solid surface to a sideboard or finish a self-built frame: a custom ceramic table top is the most durable choice. Tulmans supplies individual ceramic table tops in Dekton, Neolith and Marazzi, cut to the centimetre in our workshop in Maasbree, Netherlands.

When to choose a separate table top?
You already have a base you want to keep. You are building your own table frame. You need a top for a sideboard, side table or windowsill. Or you want to choose a separate base from our collection later.

Ceramic table top: the hardest material for daily use

Ceramic is extremely scratch-resistant. In practice this means knives, keys or dinnerware can be placed on the surface without worry. Scratches are virtually impossible. Heat-resistant: place a hot pan straight from the oven on the top. Water absorption below 0.1% means wine, coffee or olive oil leave no stains.

Applications for a separate ceramic top

Dining table. Scratch-resistant, heat-resistant and stain-proof at 12 mm thick for a modern, slim profile.

Sideboard or side table. Maintenance-free. No coasters needed.

Windowsill. UV-resistant and frost-proof. Suitable for south-facing windows and outdoor windowsills. Max width 3200 mm for wide window spans.

Sizes and custom cutting

Every ceramic table top is cut to size in our workshop in Maasbree. Choose exact length and width up to a maximum of 3200 x 1600 mm. Thickness is 12 mm. Round, oval and other shapes are available via the 3D configurator.

Colours and decors

Unsure about the colour? Order a material sample to judge at home under your own lighting.

Placing a ceramic top on an existing base

This is the most common reason for ordering a separate top. Your base is still in good condition, but the top is worn or no longer to your taste. A new ceramic top gives your table a second life. At 12 mm thick and relatively low weight per square metre, ceramic fits most existing bases.

Pairing with a separate base

No base yet? Pair the top with a table base from our collection. Choose from steel bases for an industrial look or stainless steel bases for a modern finish. In the 3D configurator you combine top and base and see the result instantly.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between Dekton, Neolith and Marazzi?
All three are ceramic table tops with comparable technical properties: Mohs hardness 7-8, heat-resistant and water absorption below 0.1%. The difference lies in the colour palette and surface texture. Each brand offers its own decors and finishes.
How thick is a ceramic table top?
Our ceramic table tops have a standard thickness of 12 mm. This gives a slim, modern profile that looks visually lighter than granite, which is typically 30 mm or thicker.
What is the maximum size for a ceramic table top?
The maximum slab size is 3200 x 1600 mm. For Dekton the maximum is also 3200 x 1600 mm. Within these limits you can order any size to the centimetre.
Can I place a ceramic top on my existing base?
Yes, this is one of the most common applications. Measure your base accurately and enter the dimensions in the 3D configurator. The 12 mm thin top fits most existing frames. Allow 5 to 10 mm margin on each side.
Is a ceramic table top suitable for outdoor use?
Yes. Ceramic is frost-proof (tested per EN ISO 10545-12), UV-resistant and has water absorption below 0.1%. Rain, frost and sun have no effect on the material. Ensure the base is also suitable for outdoor use.
How do I maintain a ceramic table top?
Daily maintenance is wiping with a damp cloth. For stubborn stains you can use a mild cleaning agent. Ceramic does not need oiling, lacquering or sealing. The material resists all common household cleaners, red wine, coffee, oil and acids; stains leave no marks.
Can I use a ceramic top as a windowsill or sideboard surface?
Yes. A separate ceramic top is suitable for various applications: dining table, sideboard, side table and windowsill. The material is UV-resistant and does not discolour, making it suitable for a south-facing windowsill.
What is the delivery time for a custom ceramic table top?
Lead time is 1 to 4 weeks, depending on the chosen decor and workshop capacity. Each top is cut to size after ordering. Delivery is available in the Netherlands, Belgium and North Rhine-Westphalia (Germany).
