Oak or walnut? Which solid wood suits your interior and lifestyle? This page helps you choose between two proven hardwoods, so you can confidently configure your custom solid wood dining table.
A solid wood dining table is more than furniture: it is the heart of your home. Both wood species in our range are solid: 40 mm thick, fully sandable and re-finishable after years of intensive use. That makes a wood table a long-term investment, unlike veneer or chipboard which cannot be restored when damaged.
Wood fits virtually any interior. From a sleek modern apartment to a rustic kitchen: the right wood species and stain colour align the table with your style. And because every plank has a natural grain pattern, no two tables are identical.

Oak offers the most freedom: with 19 stain colours you can match the tone to your floor, kitchen or chairs. Walnut does not need that flexibility: its natural dark brown colour with subtle purple glow is a statement in itself. View all options in the 3D configurator.
At furniture stores you often see tables with a veneer layer on chipboard or MDF. That is cheaper, but has drawbacks you notice after a few years. A scratch in veneer cannot be repaired without replacing the entire layer, and moisture causes chipboard to swell.
Solid wood at 40 mm thick can be sanded and re-finished when damaged. This gives your table an essentially unlimited lifespan. The higher purchase price pays for itself because you do not need a new table after five or ten years.
All wooden tops are finished with a high-quality matt 2K lacquer. This is a two-component lacquer that cures to a wear-resistant, transparent protective layer. The result is a top that handles daily use, stains and moisture.
For oak, the top is first stained in one of 19 available colours, then two coats of matt 2K lacquer are applied. The wood remains visible and touchable, but is protected against coffee, wine and grease stains.
For walnut, only clear 2K lacquer is applied. The rich, dark colour of American walnut shows best without stain. The lacquer protects the wood and enhances the natural depth of the grain.
Both species are available in five shapes: rectangular, oval, Danish oval, round and half circle. Oak tops are available up to 3000 x 1200 mm, walnut up to 2600 x 1200 mm. Start the 3D configurator and experiment with lengths and widths until it fits.
The base defines much of your table's style. With a wooden top you choose from steel bases in 11 powder-coat colours or stainless steel bases with a brushed finish.
Matt black steel is the most popular pairing with wood: the contrast between warm wood and sleek metal delivers a modern-industrial character. Stainless steel has a timeless, slightly glossy look that suits both classic and modern interiors.
In the online 3D configurator you assemble your table step by step. Choose wood species, dimensions, shape, finish and base. Every adjustment is shown instantly in a lifelike 3D model, including the correct colour and texture. The configurator also shows the price with every choice.
