The right care products help you keep your table top in optimal condition for years. Each material has its own requirements. Below you will find the recommended products and care instructions per material type.
Quick guide per material
Ceramic: maintenance-free. A damp cloth is sufficient. No special products needed.
Oak / walnut: damp cloth for daily cleaning. The 2K lacquer layer provides protection.
Granite: periodic sealing with Lithofin products. Clean daily with Lithofin Easy Clean.
Stainless steel: damp cloth. Optionally a stainless steel cleaner for the base.
Ceramic is the most maintenance-free table top material. The surface absorbs nothing (water absorption below 0.1%), so stains from wine, coffee, sauces and oils simply wipe away with a damp cloth. No sealing, no oiling, no lacquering. Ever.
For stubborn stains you can use a mild cleaning product. Ceramic resists all common household cleaners, red wine, coffee, oil and acids; stains leave no marks.
All wood table tops are finished with 2K matte lacquer that protects against moisture and stains. Daily care is straightforward: wipe with a damp cloth.
Care tips for lacquered wood:
The advantage of solid wood: should the surface show wear after years of intensive use, the top can be sanded and re-lacquered by a craftsperson. This restores the original appearance without needing a new top.
Granite is delivered sealed as standard. The sealant fills the pores and prevents liquids from penetrating. Over time, the sealant wears. We recommend annual re-sealing for dining tables in daily use.
Daily cleaning: use a damp cloth with Lithofin Easy Clean or a pH-neutral cleaner. Avoid acidic products such as lemon, vinegar or descaler, as these can attack the granite surface.
Re-sealing process: apply the sealant, let it absorb (approximately 15 minutes), remove excess with a clean cloth. The process takes about 15 minutes per table.
Brushed stainless steel requires minimal maintenance. Wipe in the direction of the brush grain with a damp cloth. Do not use scouring pads. For fingerprints or lime spots, a dedicated stainless steel cleaner can be used, though this is rarely necessary with the brushed finish.
Powder-coated steel is easy to maintain: wipe with a damp cloth. For outdoor bases with primer coating, inspect the coating annually for damage. Contact us for advice if you find chips or scratches in the coating.
We carry care products from Lithofin and Zep matched to each material type. These are available for order. If you are unsure which product suits your table, get in touch or visit the showroom in Maasbree, Netherlands for personalised advice.
