Oak or walnut?

European oak has pronounced open grain and honey to golden brown tones. Stain lets you choose the colour. A walnut table top has a deep brown colour with purple undertones. Wood is natural: grain and colour vary with every top.

Finish and knots

Oak is stained in your chosen colour and finished with two coats of clear matt lacquer. Untreated oak has no stain or lacquer and needs finishing by you. Oak knot filler follows the stain colour; for untreated oak you choose the filler. Walnut knots are always filled in black.

Check dimensions and base

Measure your base, fixing points and required overhang. Allow knee room and space to pull chairs out. Send base photographs and required top dimensions for advice on the combination.
