A walnut table top made to measure in solid American walnut (black walnut). This wood has a naturally rich chocolate-brown colour with a fine, closed grain. Unlike oak, walnut does not need to be stained: the natural colour is a statement on its own. Each top is 40 mm thick, finished with clear 2K lacquer that protects the wood while letting the colour shine through.
American walnut (Juglans nigra) is prized for its deep colour and smooth texture. The heartwood ranges from purple-brown to dark chocolate. The sapwood is slightly lighter, creating a subtle contrast within each top. The grain is fine and closed, giving the surface a smooth, almost silky feel.
Over the years, walnut becomes slightly lighter in colour. Where most wood species darken, walnut does the opposite: the deepest tones gradually become warmer and more honey-like. This is a natural process that adds to the wood's character.

Oak offers more freedom through 19 stain colours and a larger maximum size. Walnut offers a naturally dark colour that requires no staining. Unsure? Order material samples of both and compare at home.
Dining table: walnut on a steel or stainless steel base gives a warm yet modern look. Sideboard: the dark wood creates a premium accent. Desk: the smooth surface and refined grain make walnut a popular choice for home offices.
Walnut pairs particularly well with matte black steel for a warm-industrial contrast, or with brushed stainless steel for a more contemporary look. In the 3D configurator you combine top and base and see the result immediately.
The 2K lacquer finish makes daily maintenance simple: wipe with a damp cloth. Use trivets for hot pans. Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight to prevent uneven lightening. Should the surface show wear after years of use, the top can be sanded and re-lacquered. See the care page for detailed instructions.
